Our practice provides a variety of periodontal services. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are very conservative in our treatment recommendations and limit surgery to the areas where it is absolutely necessary.

Many times, the early stages of periodontal disease are best treated with non-surgical periodontal therapy. As well, non-surgical therapy may precede surgical therapy in severe periodontal cases, to improve tissue quality and limit areas requiring surgery. Therefore, surgery is reserved for those situations when non-surgical therapies have failed to achieve the desired periodontal health and to repair damage to gum tissue and bone as a result of periodontal disease. The goal of all periodontal treatment is to achieve the endpoint of stable health. This goal is what we use to determine periodontal treatment needs. This is done to improve the overall tissue quality prior to surgery and also to help limit the areas requiring surgery.
