The Academy's Public and Practice Affairs department recently sent a press
release entitled "Tips to Help Families Achieve Optimal Oral Health." The
article explains the risk of passing periodontal disease through the common
contact of saliva in families and recommends periodontal screenings for the
family members of someone with periodontal disease.
